Terms of service
1A. TERMS OF SERVICE
CavCollects.com — Effective: April 22, 2026 — Last Updated: August 20, 2026
Welcome to CavCollects. We’re collectors too, and these Terms are written to protect the two things that matter most in this hobby: the authenticity of what you buy, and the trust between us. Please read them — they’re binding, but there are no surprises hiding in here.
1. Overview & Acceptance
This website, CavCollects.com (the “Site”), is owned and operated by Cavalieri Collectibles Co. d/b/a CavCollects.com (“CavCollects,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service, together with our Shipping Policy, Return & Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Terms”), govern your access to and use of the Site and all purchases of products offered by CavCollects, whether purchased directly on the Site or through an authorized third-party marketplace.
By accessing, browsing, registering for an account on, or purchasing from the Site, you (“you,” “Customer,” or “User”) represent that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding contract, and you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Site.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. These Terms contain important provisions regarding authenticity verification, non-returnability of certain rare and investment-grade items, multichannel pricing and availability, anti-fraud protections, limitation of liability, and governing law. Your purchase constitutes acceptance of each of these provisions.
2. Definitions
• “Authentication Partner” means a recognized third-party authenticator such as PSA/DNA, James Spence Authentication (JSA), Beckett Authentication Services (BAS/Beckett), Fanatics Authentic, Upper Deck Authenticated, Steiner Sports, TriStar, or any other reputable authenticator we disclose in a product listing.
• “Authentication Components” means any Certificate of Authenticity (COA), hologram, serial number, matching sticker, tamper-evident seal, slab, case, or other physical marker issued or applied by an Authentication Partner or by CavCollects.
• “Tamper-Evident Seal” means a numbered security label, holographic sticker, slab seal, or similar physical indicator affixed to the item, its packaging, or its authentication case, designed to demonstrate whether the item has been opened, altered, or swapped.
• “Category A Item” means a product designated in the listing as standard-return eligible, typically mass-produced or readily replaceable memorabilia.
• “Category B Item” means a product designated in the listing as “Final Sale,” “One-of-a-Kind,” “Investment-Grade,” “High-Value Collectible,” or similar, which is eligible only for the narrow return exceptions set forth in the Return & Refund Policy.
• “Marketplace” means any third-party platform through which CavCollects offers products, including but not limited to Amazon, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, Target Plus, Etsy, Whatnot, Facebook Shops, Instagram Shops, Pinterest, and TikTok Shop.
3. Product Representation, Authenticity & Third-Party Authentication
3.1 Authenticity Standard. Every signed or game-used item offered by CavCollects is either (a) accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and/or tamper-evident hologram issued by an Authentication Partner, or (b) accompanied by an in-house Letter of Provenance identifying the chain of custody, where third-party authentication is not commercially available for the item. The specific authentication method for each item is disclosed in the product listing.
CavCollects complies with, and where applicable exceeds, the authenticity requirements imposed on sellers of sports collectibles and autographed memorabilia by Amazon.com, eBay, Walmart Marketplace, and Target Plus, including pre-sale authentication documentation, retention of acquisition records for a minimum of three (3) years, and cooperation with marketplace-initiated authenticity investigations.
3.2 Inherent Variation in Memorabilia. Because autographed and game-used memorabilia is, by its nature, handmade and unique, minor variations in ink tone, signature placement, pen flow, surface texture, toning, patina, and presentation are normal and do not constitute a defect, misrepresentation, or “item not as described” claim. Product photography is representative of the actual item offered; however, monitor calibration, lighting, and photographic angle may produce minor color or contrast differences.
3.3 Tampering with Authentication Components. Any removal, alteration, breaking, detachment, or obscuring of an Authentication Component — including COAs, holograms, tamper-evident seals, serial-number stickers, or graded-item slabs — immediately and permanently voids all return eligibility, regardless of the reason for the tampering. Such tampering may additionally be reported to the applicable Authentication Partner, to the purchasing Marketplace, and to the payment processor, and may be treated as evidence of fraudulent return activity under Section 12.
4. Marketplace Pricing, Availability & Channel Discrepancies
We sell across multiple channels, and each channel carries its own fees, promotions, and synchronization timing. Accordingly:
4.1 Prices May Vary by Channel. Prices, discounts, promotions, shipping charges, and bundle offers for the same or similar items may differ between CavCollects.com and any Marketplace, and between Marketplaces, due to differing platform fees, fulfillment costs, promotional calendars, and competitive conditions. The price displayed at checkout on the platform where you complete your purchase is the final price for that order. We do not price-match our own listings across channels, retroactively adjust a completed order to a price shown on a different channel, or honor a price from one channel on another.
4.2 Inventory Is Shared and Sync Delays Occur. Our inventory is synchronized across channels using automated tools. Because synchronization is periodic rather than instantaneous, an item — particularly a one-of-a-kind item — may briefly appear available on one channel after it has sold on another. An order confirmation does not guarantee inventory allocation; see Sections 4.3 and 5.
4.3 Cancellation Rights. We reserve the right to cancel any order, in whole or in part, before shipment where (a) the item sold on another channel before the inventory sync completed (an “oversell”), (b) the listing contained a pricing, typographical, or description error, (c) we identify indicators of fraud, unauthorized payment, or abusive purchasing behavior, or (d) the order cannot be verified under Section 6. If we cancel your order, we will notify you promptly and issue a full refund of all amounts paid to your original payment method. Cancellation and refund is your sole and exclusive remedy for an oversell or pricing error, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4.4 Promotions Are Channel-Specific. Coupon codes, loyalty rewards, and promotions are valid only on the channel where they are offered, unless expressly stated otherwise.
5. Order Acceptance
All orders placed through the Site constitute an offer to purchase, which CavCollects may accept or decline in its sole discretion. An order confirmation email is an acknowledgment of receipt, not an acceptance. Acceptance occurs only upon shipment of the item.
We reserve the right, without prior notice, to (a) refuse or cancel any order consistent with Section 4.3, (b) limit quantities sold to any single customer or household, (c) correct pricing or typographical errors, and (d) require additional identity or payment verification before shipment. Suspected fraud, resale arbitrage in violation of listing terms, prior chargeback history, or mismatched shipping/billing information are all valid grounds for refusal.
Prices are displayed in U.S. Dollars and are subject to change without notice. Applicable sales tax is calculated and collected based on the shipping destination and our nexus obligations. CavCollects is not responsible for currency-conversion fees, international duties, or import taxes, which are the responsibility of the buyer.
6. Payment, Holds & Verification
CavCollects accepts major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Shop Pay, and other payment methods displayed at checkout. You represent and warrant that you are authorized to use the payment method you provide and that the billing information you supply is true, accurate, and current.
Orders in excess of $500, orders flagged by our fraud-scoring system, and orders shipping to addresses that do not match the billing address on file may be held pending additional verification, which may include a callback, a government-issued photo ID match, or a third-party identity check. If verification cannot be completed within two (2) business days, we may cancel the order and refund the payment method. (Verification holds do not extend our published handling time on Marketplace orders; where verification cannot be completed within the handling window, the order will be cancelled and refunded rather than shipped late.)
7. Shipping, Delivery & Risk of Loss
Shipping is governed by our Shipping Policy, incorporated by reference. In summary: all orders ship within two (2) business days with valid carrier tracking; orders ship only to the address provided at checkout; risk of loss passes upon the carrier’s confirmed delivery scan (or first attempted delivery where signature service is waived by the Customer); and transit-damage claims must be reported within 48 hours to preserve carrier-claim eligibility. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights you hold under an applicable Marketplace buyer-protection program.
8. Returns & Refunds
Returns and refunds are governed by our Return & Refund Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. In summary:
• Category A Items are eligible for return within thirty (30) calendar days of confirmed delivery, subject (for purchases on CavCollects.com only) to a twenty percent (20%) restocking fee on change-of-mind returns, provided the item is returned in Original Unused Condition (as defined in the Return & Refund Policy) with all Authentication Components intact and tamper-evident seals unbroken.
• The restocking fee never applies where CavCollects shipped the wrong item, the item arrived damaged or defective, or the item was materially not as described. In those cases we also pay return shipping and refund original shipping.
• Category B Items are Final Sale on CavCollects.com. Returns are accepted only for (i) verifiably incorrect item shipped, (ii) transit damage confirmed under the Return & Refund Policy, or (iii) a material, undisclosed defect existing at the time of shipment.
• Purchases made on a Marketplace follow that Marketplace’s return rules where they differ (see Section 9); in particular, no restocking fee is charged on eBay orders, and Amazon orders follow Amazon’s returns program.
All returns require prior Return Authorization (or, for Marketplace orders, initiation through the Marketplace’s returns flow). Unauthorized returns will be refused and returned to sender at the Customer’s expense.
9. Marketplace Purchases
Purchases made through any Marketplace are additionally governed by that Marketplace’s terms, return policy, and buyer-protection program (including the Amazon A-to-z Guarantee and the eBay Money Back Guarantee). Where a Marketplace’s mandatory terms conflict with these Terms, the Marketplace’s terms prevail for the purchase made on that Marketplace. For all other matters, these Terms remain in effect.
You acknowledge that each Marketplace imposes its own shipping-timeliness metrics (including Amazon’s late-shipment, cancellation, and valid-tracking rates, and eBay’s Seller Performance Standards). CavCollects ships within its published handling time and uploads valid tracking on every order, but does not guarantee delivery within any specific carrier-published window where forces outside our control (carrier delays, weather, strikes, customs) intervene.
10. Speculative Purchases, Resale & Investment Disclaimer
Collectible memorabilia is a volatile market. Purchases made for resale, event-driven speculation (e.g., a forthcoming Hall of Fame induction, championship run, retirement announcement, or death of a featured athlete), portfolio investment, or third-party flip agreements are made at the buyer’s sole risk. CavCollects makes no representation or warranty regarding future market value, liquidity, grading outcomes, or the commercial success of any resale effort. Market-related disappointment is not a valid basis for return, refund, or chargeback.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including product photography, descriptions, text, logos, videos, authentication imagery, and site design — is the property of CavCollects or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and related laws. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, scrape, or use our content, in whole or in part, for any commercial purpose (including competing listings on any Marketplace) without our prior written consent. Violators will be reported to the relevant Marketplace intellectual-property programs and, where appropriate, pursued under applicable law, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
12. Prohibited Conduct & Fraud Prevention
You agree that you will not, and will not attempt to:
• Submit fraudulent, duplicative, or deceptive chargebacks or payment disputes, including disputes filed despite receipt of the correct, authenticated item;
• Misrepresent the condition of a shipment upon delivery, including by claiming non-receipt of a signed-for package or damage not present at delivery;
• Return any item other than the exact item shipped by CavCollects, including, without limitation, swapping in a counterfeit, replica, previously owned, or altered item;
• Break, remove, alter, or obscure any Authentication Component prior to return;
• Use false identity, synthetic identity, or third-party payment credentials without authorization;
• Harass CavCollects staff, threaten negative reviews in exchange for refunds or free product, or engage in coordinated review manipulation;
• Interfere with or attempt to penetrate the Site’s security, scrape pricing or inventory data, or use automated tools to place or cancel orders.
Remedies. In addition to any other rights and remedies available to us at law or equity, we may (a) refuse service to any customer who engages in the above conduct, (b) cancel pending orders, (c) pursue recovery of chargeback losses and associated fees under applicable federal and state law, (d) report the conduct to the purchasing Marketplace, payment processor, and, where criminal fraud is indicated, to federal and state law-enforcement authorities, and (e) seek damages equal to the full value of the item plus our reasonable costs of investigation.
13. Pre-Shipment Documentation
To protect both parties and to create an evidentiary record in the event of a dispute, chargeback, or carrier claim, CavCollects photographs and, for items valued at $500 or more, video-records each item immediately prior to packaging. This record captures the item’s condition, all Authentication Components, the serial or hologram number where applicable, and the packaging process. This documentation may be submitted to payment processors, Marketplace buyer-protection teams, carriers, and Authentication Partners in the event of a claim. By placing an order, you consent to our use of this documentation for such purposes.
14. Disclaimers; No Warranties
Except as expressly set forth in a written product listing or a contractual provision required by an applicable Marketplace, products are sold “AS IS” and “WITH ALL FAULTS.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, CavCollects disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. No oral or written information or advice given by CavCollects or its representatives creates any warranty not expressly contained in these Terms. Nothing in this Section limits warranties or remedies that cannot be disclaimed under applicable law, including non-waivable rights under Massachusetts law.
15. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CAVCOLLECTS, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR LOSS OF INVESTMENT VALUE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR PURCHASE OR USE OF ANY PRODUCT, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO A PRODUCT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU FOR THE PRODUCT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Certain jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of incidental or consequential damages; accordingly, some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CavCollects, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Site or any product, (c) your violation of applicable law, or (d) any fraudulent chargeback, return, or dispute initiated by you in bad faith.
17. Governing Law, Forum & Dispute Resolution
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or to any product purchased from CavCollects, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Subject to any mandatory Marketplace dispute-resolution process, you and CavCollects agree that any action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, and each party consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts and waives any objection based on inconvenient forum.
You and CavCollects each waive any right to a trial by jury in any action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms. Any claim must be brought within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues; otherwise the claim is permanently barred, except where a longer period is required by applicable law.
18. Modifications
We may modify these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on the Site with an updated “Last Updated” date. Material changes will, where feasible, be highlighted. Your continued use of the Site or purchase of products after posting constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For any individual order, the Terms in effect at the time of that order apply to that order.
19. Severability; Waiver; Assignment; Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision shall be reformed to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Shipping Policy, Return & Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CavCollects regarding your purchases and use of the Site, and supersede all prior agreements.
20. Contact
Questions regarding these Terms should be directed to: Cavalieri Collectibles Co. d/b/a CavCollects.com, Email: Cav@CavCollects.com. All legal notices must be sent by email to the address above with a hard-copy follow-up, if requested, to the business address on file with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
1B. SHIPPING POLICY
CavCollects.com — Effective: August 20, 2026 — Last Updated: August 20, 2026
Every package we send carries something irreplaceable — so we ship fast, we ship tracked, and we ship carefully. Here’s exactly how it works.
1. Handling Time — Your Order Ships Within 2 Business Days
All orders ship within two (2) business days of order confirmation and payment verification. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays. Orders placed after 2:00 PM Eastern Time, or on a weekend or holiday, begin processing on the next business day.
This 2-business-day handling time applies to every item we sell, including high-value and one-of-a-kind pieces — our pre-shipment authentication check and condition documentation are built into that window, not added on top of it. In the rare case that we cannot complete verification within the handling window, we will cancel and fully refund the order rather than ship late (see Terms of Service, Section 6).
2. Tracking — Guaranteed on Every Shipment
Every shipment includes a valid tracking number from a major U.S. carrier (USPS, UPS, or FedEx), uploaded and emailed to you at the moment your order ships. No untracked shipping methods are ever used, at any price point. You can follow your package from our door to yours.
3. Shipping Methods, Insurance & Signature (U.S. Only)
We currently ship within the United States only. All shipments are insured for full value on orders of $100 or more. Signature confirmation is required on all shipments of $750 or more, and may be added to lower-value shipments at our discretion based on declared value or destination risk. If you ask us to waive a required signature, you do so at your own risk: waiving signature may void carrier insurance eligibility, and risk of loss will pass to you upon the carrier’s first delivery attempt.
4. Address Policy — We Ship Only to Your Checkout Address
Orders ship only to the shipping address provided at checkout. We cannot redirect, reroute, intercept, or re-address a package after an order is placed — this protects you against interception fraud and preserves carrier-insurance and marketplace seller-protection coverage. If you entered the wrong address, contact us immediately at Cav@CavCollects.com before the order ships; our only remedy is to cancel and refund the order so you can re-order with the correct address. For Marketplace orders (Amazon, eBay, etc.), we ship exclusively to the address transmitted by the Marketplace with your order, as those platforms require.
You are responsible for providing a complete, accurate, and secure delivery address. CavCollects is not liable for loss resulting from address errors you provide, unattended delivery locations, or a change of residence.
5. Carrier Liability, Risk of Loss & Delivery
We want to be transparent about who is responsible at each stage:
• From our door to yours (pre-delivery): CavCollects is responsible for your order until the carrier records a confirmed delivery scan at your checkout address (or, where you have waived a required signature, the first attempted delivery). If tracking shows your package is lost in transit — stalled, misrouted, or never delivered — contact us and we will file and manage the carrier claim and make it right with a refund or replacement once the carrier confirms loss. You will never be left to fight a carrier alone over a package that never arrived.
• After confirmed delivery: Once the carrier records a delivery scan (or signature capture) at your address, delivery is complete, and title and risk of loss pass to you. Responsibility for the physical security of the delivered package — including theft, porch piracy, weather, and unauthorized access — then rests with you, subject to any applicable carrier insurance.
• Marketplace orders: Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights you hold under a Marketplace buyer-protection program (such as the Amazon A-to-z Guarantee or eBay Money Back Guarantee) for purchases made on that Marketplace.
For suspected theft after a confirmed delivery scan, we will supply the tracking record, proof of delivery, and declared-value documentation to support a carrier-insurance claim or police report, but a carrier-confirmed delivery scan is conclusive evidence of delivery for purposes of “item not received” claims.
6. Secure Packaging & Condition Documentation
To protect collectors and preserve the integrity of authenticated memorabilia, every item is securely packaged, its Authentication Components are verified before packing, and shipments are documented via photographs and — for items of $500 or more — video during the packing process. This documentation may be used to verify shipment contents and condition in the event of a dispute, carrier claim, or chargeback.
7. Damage, Loss, or Delivery Issues — Report Within 48 Hours
Please inspect every shipment promptly on delivery. Any claim of transit damage, missing contents, or shipment discrepancy should be reported to Cav@CavCollects.com within 48 hours of the confirmed delivery scan. This deadline exists because USPS, FedEx, and UPS impose their own strict inspection and claim windows; reports made after 48 hours may fall outside the carrier’s claim process, which can limit the remedies available. To keep your carrier claim eligible: photograph the item and the damage, photograph the outer box (all sides), inner packaging, and shipping label, and retain all packaging materials until the claim is resolved — the carrier may require physical inspection.
Where the carrier accepts the claim, we will issue a full refund or agreed replacement. Where the carrier denies a claim despite your compliance with this section, we will evaluate the claim in good faith against our pre-shipment record and your documentation.
8. Marketplace Orders
Orders placed through Amazon, eBay, or another Marketplace are subject to that platform’s shipping, delivery, and buyer-protection policies in addition to this policy. Our handling time (2 business days), guaranteed tracking, and checkout-address-only rule apply identically on every channel.
1C. RETURN & REFUND POLICY
CavCollects.com — Effective: August 20, 2026 — Last Updated: August 20, 2026
We sell rare, authenticated, and often one-of-a-kind memorabilia — so our return policy is built around one principle: honest returns are easy; fraudulent returns are impossible. If we got something wrong, we make it right at our expense, every time. If you simply change your mind on a standard item, you have a full 30 days. And if an item is designated Final Sale, we tell you before you buy, not after.

Marketplace orders (Amazon, eBay) follow that platform’s returns process and rules where they differ — see Section 9. In particular, no restocking fee is charged on eBay orders, and Amazon orders follow Amazon’s returns program, under which no restocking fee applies to items returned unopened and in original condition within the return window.
2. Category A — Standard 30-Day Returns
Category A Items may be returned for any reason, including a simple change of mind, within thirty (30) calendar days of confirmed delivery, subject to the conditions below.
• Condition Requirement: The item must be returned in Original Unused Condition (defined in Section 3) with all Authentication Components intact.
• Return Authorization: All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) issued under Section 6 before shipping anything back.
• Return Shipping (change-of-mind): You are responsible for return shipping. Trackable shipping is required on all returns; insurance for the full purchase price is required on any return valued at $100 or more.
• Return Shipping (our fault): Where we shipped the wrong item, the item arrived damaged or defective, or the item was materially not as described, we provide a prepaid, insured return label and refund your original shipping charges in full.
• Restocking Fee (CavCollects.com purchases only): Change-of-mind returns are subject to a restocking fee of twenty percent (20%) of the product price (excluding shipping), where permitted by applicable law. The fee is waived in full — and all shipping refunded — whenever the return is due to our error, transit damage, a defect, or a material listing inaccuracy. The restocking fee applies only to purchases made directly on CavCollects.com; see Section 9 for marketplace orders.
• Refund Timeline: See Section 7.
3. “Original Unused Condition” — Defined Precisely
A returned item is in Original Unused Condition only if ALL of the following are true:
1. Unused and unworn: The item shows no signs of use, wear, handling beyond visual inspection, cleaning, polishing, restoration, or alteration of any kind.
2. Tags and inserts attached: All original tags, labels, inserts, cards, and packaging materials are present, attached where originally attached, and undamaged.
3. Authentication Components intact: Every COA, hologram, matching sticker, serial-number label, and Tamper-Evident Seal is present, unbroken, undisturbed, and unaltered.
4. Serial match: The tamper-evident seal and/or hologram serial number matches the serial number recorded in our pre-shipment documentation for your exact order. A mismatched or absent serial number is treated as a presumptively fraudulent return under Section 8.
5. Slabs uncracked: Graded items (e.g., PSA-slabbed cards) remain in their original, intact, un-cracked slab with all labels, flip inserts, and protective sleeves. A cracked, re-holdered, or re-slabbed item is not returnable under any circumstance.
6. Original packaging: The item is returned in (or with) its original product packaging, protective case, and presentation box, where supplied.
An item failing any of these tests is not eligible for a refund as a change-of-mind return. Where an item is returned in diminished but non-fraudulent condition, we may, at our discretion and where the sales channel permits, offer a partial refund reflecting the item’s loss in value in lieu of outright refusal.
4. Category B — Final Sale / High-Value / One-of-a-Kind
Category B Items are sold on a Final Sale basis on CavCollects.com. This designation applies to items whose replacement cost, rarity, grading, or authentication make them non-substitutable, and it is disclosed conspicuously in the product listing, the order confirmation, and the packing slip before and after you buy.
Notwithstanding the Final Sale designation, we will always review a Category B return request on these grounds:
1. Wrong item shipped, verified against the order record and our pre-shipment photographs and video;
2. Verified transit damage, reported within 48 hours under the Shipping Policy and confirmed through the carrier’s claim process;
3. Undisclosed material defect existing at the time of shipment that would have materially affected the purchase decision of a reasonable collector. (Inherent variation in hand-signed or game-used memorabilia — signature placement, ink tone, patina — is not a defect; see Terms of Service, Section 3.2.)
Not eligible: buyer’s remorse; a better price found elsewhere; decline in market value or failure of an anticipated event (induction, grading outcome, championship, retirement, death); minor cosmetic variation inherent to memorabilia; post-purchase grading results on items sold raw; and any return with a broken seal, removed hologram, or serial mismatch.
Marketplace note: Where a Marketplace’s rules limit Final Sale designations or provide buyers non-waivable return rights (such as the eBay Money Back Guarantee for items not as described, or Amazon’s returns program), those rules control for purchases on that Marketplace. See Section 9.
5. Transit Damage & Carrier Claims
Our transit-damage protocol follows USPS, FedEx, and UPS documentation and packaging-retention requirements so that carrier insurance remains available to support your claim. Report damage within 48 hours of the delivery scan to Cav@CavCollects.com with: photos of the damaged item; photos of the outer box (all sides), inner packaging, and shipping label; a photo of the tamper-evident seal as it arrived; and a brief written description. Retain all packaging until the claim closes — the carrier may require inspection at a retail location or by scheduled pickup, and cooperation with that inspection is a condition of transit-damage refund eligibility.
Where the carrier accepts the claim, we issue a full refund (including all shipping) or, where feasible and mutually agreed, a replacement. Where the carrier denies the claim despite your compliance, we evaluate in good faith against our pre-shipment record and may refund in whole or in part.
6. How to Return an Item (RMA Procedure)
1. Request: Email Cav@CavCollects.com within the return window with your order number, the item, the reason, and any required documentation (Sections 3–5). Marketplace orders: initiate through the Marketplace’s returns flow instead — do not ship a marketplace purchase to us without a label issued through that platform’s returns system.
2. Authorization: We respond within three (3) business days. Approved requests receive a written RMA number and return instructions; our-fault returns receive a prepaid, insured label.
3. Ship: Send the item, insured and trackable, in its original packaging, with the RMA number written on the outer box only (never on product packaging).
4. Verification: On receipt we verify seal integrity, serial match, and condition against the pre-shipment record — typically within five (5) business days.
5. Refund: Approved refunds are issued per Section 7. Refused returns (seal, serial, or condition failure) are, at your written election and expense, shipped back to you or retained pending investigation.
Unauthorized returns — shipments without a valid RMA (or marketplace return label) — are refused at the door and returned to sender. We are not responsible for unauthorized returns lost or damaged in transit.
7. Refund Mechanics & Timing
• Method: Refunds go to the original payment method only. Marketplace orders are refunded through the Marketplace’s payment flow (Amazon, eBay Managed Payments, etc.) on that platform’s timeline. Loyalty or store credit used at checkout is refunded as credit.
• Inspection: Up to five (5) business days after we receive the return.
• Issuance: Within ten (10) business days after inspection and approval — and on marketplace orders, always within the maximum refund window the platform mandates.
• Posting: Your bank or card issuer typically posts the refund within 3–10 business days after issuance; we have no control over this window.
• Carrier-claim refunds: May track the carrier’s investigation timeline, which can extend 30 days or more; we keep you informed throughout.
• Amounts: Refunds are based on the net amount actually paid after discounts. Except where the return is our fault (or applicable law requires otherwise), original outbound shipping, insurance, expedited-handling, and gift-presentation upcharges are non-refundable, and the 20% restocking fee applies to CavCollects.com change-of-mind returns.
• Cancellations: You may cancel before shipment for a full refund by emailing Cav@CavCollects.com. Once a label is generated or the order is packed, cancellation is not guaranteed and standard return terms apply.
• Undeliverable/refused shipments: If a package returns to us as undeliverable, refused, or unclaimed, we will contact you to either (a) re-ship at your cost, or (b) refund the product price less outbound and return shipping, insurance, and — for Category A CavCollects.com orders — the 20% restocking fee. Category B items refused or unclaimed are refundable only on Section 4 grounds.
8. Return Integrity & Anti-Fraud Notice
We maintain a zero-tolerance position on return fraud, which harms every honest collector. The following constitute fraudulent return conduct and may be reported to payment processors, Marketplaces, Authentication Partners, and law enforcement, and pursued under 18 U.S.C. § 1343, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act, and Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 266, § 30: returning a different item than shipped (“swapping”); returning an item with a broken, removed, altered, or replaced seal or hologram; returning an item whose serial number does not match our pre-shipment record; filing a chargeback or buyer-protection claim after receiving the correct, authenticated item in good condition; filing duplicative claims across channels for the same order; and false non-delivery claims on shipments with signature confirmation or clear proof of delivery.
Where fraud is identified, we will refuse the return, retain the item as evidence pending investigation, report the incident, and where appropriate seek civil recovery including reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs.
9. Marketplace-Specific Return Terms
9.1 Amazon. Amazon purchases are governed by Amazon’s return policies and the A-to-z Guarantee. Initiate all returns through your Amazon account; a return label will be issued through Amazon’s returns system. We honor Amazon’s full return window (a minimum of 30 days) on all Amazon orders. Consistent with Amazon policy, no restocking fee is charged on items returned within the return window in original, unopened condition; any refund deduction for items returned used, damaged by the buyer, or materially different from how we shipped them is made only as Amazon’s guidelines permit. We adhere to Amazon’s Sports Collectibles authenticity-documentation standards and cooperate fully with Amazon-initiated authenticity investigations.
9.2 eBay. All eBay listings for standard items carry a 30-day return window. Consistent with eBay policy, we do not charge restocking fees on eBay orders. For items not as described or damaged in transit, we provide a prepaid return label and a full refund, as eBay requires. For change-of-mind returns, the buyer pays return shipping. Where a change-of-mind item comes back used, damaged, or missing components, we may deduct up to 50% of the refund to recover the item’s lost value, strictly in accordance with eBay’s refund-deduction guidelines. Select one-of-a-kind items may be listed with a no-returns designation where eBay permits; all eBay purchases remain covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee and, where applicable, eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee.
9.3 Other Platforms. Walmart Marketplace, Target Plus, Etsy, Whatnot, Facebook/Instagram Shops, Pinterest, and TikTok Shop purchases follow each platform’s posted returns and buyer-protection program. Category B items are designated non-returnable only to the extent each platform permits.
